Cullercoats in the, 1800s and into the 1900s, was a centre for small boat fishing and has also been in its time an artist’s colony. One of the most famous artists, Winslow Homer, gave his name to the adjacent block of luxury flats, Winslow Court. Another
interesting fact is that
if on Google Earth Cullercoats is selected only one hit is registered.
Is it the only Cullercoats in the World?
The club has four function rooms: BUFFET includes a pool
table and looks out over Cullercoats Bay, SEAVIEW LOUNGE, the jewel
in the crown, has magnificent views from Cullercoats Bay and Harbour to
the Priory and the mouth of the Tyne
The
Club is members, CIU
affiliates and guests only but is
open, no membership required, on occasions throughout the year,
especially on Bank
Holiday weekends and the famous RNLI Harbour Day. If
you would like to be a member
then present yourself to the Secretary between 12noon and 1am any
Sunday and he will give you membership forms and explain the procedure.
The
Club is dedicated to
providing a pleasant setting for entertainment, table and board games
and for meeting friends and enjoying a quiet drink. |
